The Little Lorikeet's Story

At Little Lorikeets Art Studio in Sydney, we believe in the transformative power of art education for children. Our journey began two decades ago when Michelle, our passionate founder, embarked on a mission to kindle the flames of creativity in young hearts. Her commitment to fostering a love for art became the cornerstone of our studio.

Meet Michelle - Our Creative Spark

At Little Lorikeets Art Studio, Michelle is not just an all-round creative; she's the heart and soul of our artistic haven. With a background as an artist, art tutor, and an experienced early childhood educator of over 20 years, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our studio. Not to mention, she's a loving mother to two creatively curious girls.

Her passion for providing children with creative, fun, and educational experiences is boundless. Michelle believes in letting kids explore, learn, play, and create unique art and crafts while expressing their inner artists. Her qualifications include a Working With Children Check, First Aid and CPR training, and anaphylaxis training, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

But what truly sets Michelle apart is her dedication to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities. She knows these activities help children develop confidence, problem-solving skills, language, and a wide range of developmental skills, including fine motor and hand-eye coordination. She's committed to nurturing the innovators of the future.

Mission & Values

Our mission at Little Lorikeets is simple yet profound: to inspire and nurture children's creativity through high-quality visual arts education. We believe that every child has an inner artist waiting to be unleashed.

At Little Lorikeets Art Studio, we're not only passionate about nurturing children's creativity but also about being environmentally conscious. We believe in the value of using everyday items like cardboard rolls and more in our crafting activities. Beyond creating beautiful art, we encourage children to craft their own toys from these materials. The sense of accomplishment they gain from crafting their own toys is immeasurable. It instills a deeper appreciation for their creations as they've invested their time and energy, teaching them the importance of sustainable and mindful choices in a rapidly consumeristic world. It's a small step in making the world a more eco-friendly and creative place.

Vision

At Little Lorikeets, we envision a world where the next generation is filled with artists, innovators, and creative thinkers. Our goal is to provide children with a strong foundation in the visual arts, setting them on a path of endless creative possibilities.

As a busy working mum, Michelle understands the challenges of providing children with the creative outlet they need. She's seen firsthand how creativity has therapeutic benefits and helps children balance their emotions while expressing themselves authentically.

Her journey into art and children's education began when her first child was drawn to all things arty, messy, and fun. Her search for the perfect preschool art classes led to the birth of Little Lorikeets Art Studio.

She's passionate about extending opportunities to inspire children to explore, play, and create. Michelle believes that the sense of accomplishment and purpose she felt while creating her cars and houses out of recycled materials should be available to every child. This is why Little Lorikeets Art Studio exists – to inspire children to explore, play, and create, just as Michelle did as a child.

With Michelle leading the way, Little Lorikeets Art Studio is a place where creativity knows no bounds and children can embark on a lifelong journey of artistic exploration.
